Our assessments do more than identify if a problem exists. They help you gain insight into why a problem might exist and how to address it. Our assessments can provide information about cognitive abilities, academic skills, executive functioning, memory, social and emotional functioning, and more. Each assessment includes a comprehensive report with individualized recommendations for home and school or work. In essence, you get a personalized roadmap for navigating all of your concerns.   • What ages do you assess?  

We assess ages 4 and up.

  • What types of diagnoses and/or disorders do you assess?

We assess just about every concern, problem, or challenge. Here is a list of common things we see:

  • Autism (ASD)

  • ADHD

  • Learning Disorders

  • Intellectual Disability Disorder (IDD)

  • What exactly does an assessment entail?

Our assessments are comprehensive. This means we are looking at all the different areas of functioning for the individual. We tailor each assessment to the needs of the individual and often include the following in our assessments:

  • Intellectual Functioning (IQ)

  • Attentional Functioning

  • Academic Achievement

  • Specific Learning Disorder assessment

  • Language screening

  • Memory and Learning

  • Fine motor skills

  • Social, emotional, and behavioral functioning

  • Functioning specific to ADHD

  • Functioning specific to Autism (ASD)

  • What does the assessment process look like?

The assessment process has several components. It includes the following:

  1. Parent (or Partner) Interview

    a. Often scheduled prior to the actual testing

    b. Lasting 1-1.5 hours

  2. Assessment

    a. In our office

    b. Usually takes 6 hours, sometimes longer (we work at the individual’s pace.)

    c. Sending and receiving of parent and teacher questionnaires.

  3. Feedback Session

    This is a meeting with the parents or the adult individual and the psychologist.

  4. Delivery of Report

    You will receive a detailed report via our patient portal.

  • How long does the assessment process take?

This depends on the components listed above. In general, we try to get everything back to you in 6 weeks or less. Oftentimes, we are waiting on parent and teacher questionnaires to be returned. Once we get all of those back, we can compile all the results!
