Dr. Allison L. Sallee
Allison brings with her over 20 years of experience working with children and families. Her specialties include autism, ADHD, anxiety among many others. She provides both diagnostic assessment and therapy services. She has received numerous awards for her work in nonprofit mental health, including the Outstanding Contribution to Public Service Award (2016, Texas Psychological Association), the Jefferson Award (2015, Austin American Statesman) and the Champions for Children Award (2014, Helping Hand Home for Children). Dr. Sallee has been featured in Austin Family Magazine and American Baby Magazine. She makes several professional presentations regarding working with children and families, especially autism. She is a past board member of the Texas Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.
Thank you for the opportunity to share a little bit about myself. My goal is to provide you with the tools and skills necessary for the growth and progress you and/or your family hope to experience. My approach is primarily based on a collaborative and systemic model that heavily incorporates the developmental level of the individual and/or family. I also incorporate solution-focused and cognitive-behavioral models in my work.
I received my doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin and completed my predoctoral training at Harvard Medical School/Boston Children’s Hospital in Boston, MA. I have a master’s degree in Marriage and Family from the University of Houston-Clear Lake and a master’s degree in Program Evaluation from UT at Austin. I have been involved in the mental health field in various roles since 1993.
